We are so excited to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves. We are the Tiehen family and we are excited to be the new co-owners and operators of the Arapaho Valley Ranch.
Those of you who know Todd and Emily Gold know that Arapaho Valley Ranch will never be the same without them. Their story is one filled with love, dedication, hard work, vision, and family (which included their friends and their guests). The Gold family had an amazing run, successfully operating the ranch for over 4 decades as a family-oriented ranch catering to families like ours who love spending time in the beautiful Colorado wilderness.
We met the Golds while camping at the ranch over a weekend in July 2020. It was on this trip that we fell in love with the ranch and began a friendship with Todd and Emily. Over the last year, talks ensued about us purchasing the ranch. After many visits (and some very memorable meetings at the Red Dog Saloon), we were able to work out the details and make the sale official.
Although this transition marks the end of an unforgettable era with the Golds, we couldn’t be more excited about the future for Arapaho Valley Ranch. Our intent is to continue running AVR as a family-oriented guest ranch and make improvements to the property that will allow us to offer more accommodations including opening the ranch year-round to our guests.
Many of these improvements will take place over the next year. While we plan to be partially open in 2022, there will likely be renovations that will limit our availability. We know how special the ranch is to so many people who come year after year, and we hope to continue to bring you wonderful memories and experiences. As the renovation plans are finalized in the coming months, we will share more information about the specific improvements and availability for 2022.
